A large part of the vineyards are located in the Mittelhaardt region. The area comprises more than 5000ha of land, where Riesling stands out over any other variety. It is not unjustified, as such, that this is one of Germany’s most exported wines. In white wine, exploration is directed mainly at the Gewürztraminer and Scheurebe varieties, and in red wines: Dornfelder, Portugieser, Spätburgunder and Regent. 3000 families are dedicated to wine production in this area, many of which are sold from their own wineries.
